20108 N608APU
First
Wyvern has acquired it’s first Volvo B10M based coach in
the form of 608 N608APU. The vehicle was originally part
of a batch of 19 coaches acquired for Thamesway when the
company was part of the Badgerline Group for use on
"City Saver" express coach services between Southend and
London. For this service the vehicles were painted in a
distinctive orange livery. The majority of the vehicles
from the batch are now with First Eastern Counties in
their coaching fleet though one or two remained with
First Thamesway including N608APU. N608APU is in the
current corporate First Coaching livery. The vehicle
entered service at Evesham for use on the new
Worcestershire County Council school contracts acquired
by during January 2004. These new contracts are as a
result of the closure of the small coach firm Phillips
of Dormston near Inkberrow. The vehicle was withdrawn by
First Wyvern in June 2004 and it moved to First Devon
and Cornwall. The vehicle has now been withdrawn by
First Devon and Cornwall

66611 - E111NNV
Neither
Midland Red West or First Midland ever purchased any new
Volvo based vehicles. Only in the last year has the
Company actually operated any Volvo vehicles when double
deck vehicles were transferred from sister Company First
Northampton for use on school services. Following the
transfer of vehicles G112/3/4ENV from First
Northampton/Leicester in 2003 the prototype from the
batch E111NNV was transferred to First Midland Red over
the weekend of the 25th and 26th September 2004 and the
vehicle entered service at Evesham Garage during the
following week. The vehicle entered service still in
First Leicester Red and Cream livery as is shown in the
picture which was taken on 29th December 2003 in
Leicester City Centre. The vehicle only operated for a
matter of weeks at Evesham covering for 66613 which had
returned to Leicester for mechanical attention

66612/3/4 - G112/3/4ENV
For
use primarily for on school contract work two Duple
bodied Volvo B10M-55 have been transferred from First
Northampton to First Midland Red. Both vehicles were
still in the former corporate livery style of GRT which
was one half (Badgerline Group being the other) of the
now combined grouping called First Group. The vehicles
are fitted with coach type seating though the vehicle
body has been designed for use on local bus services.112
entered service with First Midland Red on Monday 1st
September 2003 with 114 following a number of days
latter. 114 was repainted into Barbie2 livery during the
first week in December 2003 and was then re-allocated to
Evesham Garage in exchange for 1005. On 15th December
2003 G113ENV (113) arrived at Worcester to join the
First Midland Red fleet from sister company First
Northampton and entered service at Worcester on 22nd
December 2003. It was planned once all three were
repainted into the corporate Barbie2 livery then they
would be allocated to Evesham Garage which at the time
still has a requirement for seat belt fitted vehicles.
66612 and 66613 were never repainted and were operated
from Evesham garage in as acquired livery .
